Public transport stops

SwitzerlandMobility maps only show public transport stops that are included in official timetables. Thus only the most important stops are shown for bus and local traffic.

Stops are shown by the relevant mobility pictogram.

The stops are linked with the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) online timetable via a window for «Timetable enquiries». Journeys and day excursions are thus quick and easy to plan.

LIf public transport stops for various forms of transport such as trams or buses are close together, then depending on the map scale chosen, a number of windows may be opened simultaneously for a timetable enquiry. It makes no difference which window you use for the timetable enquiry.

WIf public transport stops are jointly used by various forms of transport such as trams and buses, only one mobility pictogram will be shown on the map. This «wrong» display has no effect on your timetable enquiry. The correct differentiation between the transport forms will follow via the timetable information on the online timetable.

On the timetable information, the link «Fare/Ticket» leading to the SBB ticket shop enables easy purchase of your tickets.

SSwitzerlandMobility, the Union of Public Transport UPT and Swiss Federal Railways SBB are endeavouring to improve information on public transport stops.

Rail, bus, boat recommendations

On over 400 sections, SwitzerlandMobility recommends the use of public transport to shorten long stages, to negotiate greater height differences or bypass less attractive sections. The recommendations are numbered and linked via a window to timetable enquiries on the online timetable of Swiss Federal Railways (SBB). On the timetable information, the link «Fare/Ticket» leading to the SBB ticket shop enables easy purchase of your tickets.

On the web map, these numbers are shown on a coloured background together with for example a pictogram of a train, boat or aerial cableway. The background colour corresponds to the respective form of non-motorized traffic; green for hiking, light blue for cycling, ochre for mountain biking, violet for skating and turquoise for canoeing.
